Open Enrollment Update

Congratulations to all Team Members and spouses that recently completed their Qualifiers. QuickChek encourages you and your family to take a proactive approach to your health by learning about your current status and taking the appropriate steps to manage or improve your outcomes. Completing these steps will allow you to take advantage of lower medical plan premiums.

Our next step is preparing for Benefits Open Enrollment, which is quickly approaching. All eligible Team Members will be receiving an Open Enrollment guide, delivered to you by your Leader Advocate.

QuickChek will offer Full Time benefits to all Team Members working 35 or more hours per week. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has extended the employer mandate once again. Therefore QuickChek will not be required to offer medical benefits to Team Members working 30 to 35 hours per week, for the plan year beginning November 1, 2014.

During Open Enrollment, August 25th through September 12th, you will need to access the My QC Benefits website to enroll for benefits. Through My QC Benefits, you will make your elections for the 2014/2015 plan year, update your beneficiaries for Life and AD&D insurance and certify your tobacco use.

You will now complete your Spousal Opt In questions online during Open Enrollment. Completing this information is required in order to enroll your spouse in the medical, dental or vision plans.

Once you enroll, be sure to print a copy of your benefit elections and keep your confirmation number for reference throughout the year. Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to enroll or make changes to your benefits without a qualifying life event.

QuickChek will continue to offer two High Deductable Health Plans with Health Savings Accounts. We recently introduced a new tool called WellMatch, which is available through My QC Benefits to all Team Members enrolled in a QuickChek medical plan. It’s easy to use, it’s free and it can save you money on your out-of-pocket expenses. WellMatch helps you compare different healthcare providers by cost and quality. You can find out how much your next doctor’s visit or procedure will cost before you even schedule your appointment! You can even view your deductable and out-of-pocket maximums and track your benefit costs year round.

If you enroll in a QuickChek medical plan, we encourage you to enroll in the Health Savings Account to help you save money for any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur. QuickChek will contribute to your Health Savings Account as long as you open an account and contribute weekly. QuickChek’s contribution amounts differ based on the medical plan you elect. Please refer to your Open Enrollment guide for the plan contribution amounts.
