On February 2nd, the team of store #75 in Hazlet had a very special guest drop by and receive a special tour from Dean himself.
Congressman Frank Pallone spent an hour visiting the store on Friday morning and he took the phrase “serving his constituents” to a new level when he donned an apron and stepped into the Food Service Area. He created a made-to-order sub, complete with a side of mac and cheese, for one of our customers and hand delivered the order. During his visit, he also received register training as well as training on how we serve our award-winning, locally roasted coffee. This special drop-in was part of a National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) In-Store event that allows elected officials the opportunity to witness the life of Team Members and the importance of the customer experience in local convenience stores.
The NACS In-Store event is one in a series of nationwide industry events that celebrate the success and importance of convenience stores and the economic, cultural, and social contributions we make to our communities. NACS President and CEO Henry Armour said, “Convenience stores are the anchor of communities across the country and they are also where community conversations take place. More than half of the country visits a convenience store on a daily basis. The NACS In-Store program gives elected officials a perfect opportunity to experience how these stores serve the public in their home districts.”
Congressman Pallone toured the Hazlet store with Dean and discussed issues important to our business while also engaging with our customers. “We are delighted to have Congressman Pallone visit our store and gain a true sense of our business, our total dedication to serving the needs of our customers, and the role we play in our communities,” said Dean.
Thanks for stopping by, Congressman!

This is great…I hope we do it in other stores and show our community involvement
