September is National Food Safety Month. National Food Safety Month was created in 1994 to heighten awareness of food safety education. Each year, there is a new ‘theme’ as the area of focus.
The focus this year is on the Culture of Food Safety. Within the restaurant and food service industry, food safety is synonymous with a company’s reputation. It is critical to have a culture that focuses on food safety. This food safety culture is not just one person’s responsibility. It takes the entire team working together to ensure that food is safely prepared and served. We all know that one mistake when it comes to food safety could risk someone’s health or the company’s reputation. Let’s continue to work hard every day and focus on food safety!
