QuickChek ‘Feels the Burn’ at West Point!

When it comes to building leaders, the United States Military Academy at West Point sets the standard for excellence both nationally and globally. The Cadet Leadership Development Program produces the leaders responsible for our freedom and the lives of those who defend it.

On March 23rd and 24th, our President’s Leadership Club, District Leaders and several of the Senior Leadership Team attended a two-day event at West Point. In addition to learning about U.S. Army core values, they dove into the experience with physical training at 6:00am. Individual and team exercises left some ‘feeling the burn’ for days.

Attendees participated in physical and intellectual team-building activities that explored how both Leadership Philosophy and Leader Identity shape Team behavior. The activities established trust, direction and communication when addressing challenges. Leader’s Intent communicates the desires of the Leader, so Team Members know what they need to do – even when the Leader isn’t present. General LeBoef also explained how great leaders are humble servants to their Team.

This entire experience allowed participants to understand the importance of drawing the best from the diversity of their Team to form a cohesive and productive unit.
